Archiving your NewStart

As your New Church begins, consider the importance of preserving its significant materials. The Nazarene Archives recommends several easy steps that can help preserve your church’s legacy. It is wise to keep archives at your local church for easy access and study. In addition to your local congregational archives, the Nazarene Archives is interested in obtaining materials from your church for its congregational collections. You may periodically send original documents or items to Archives to be added to your church’s archival file there.

What should be included in your archives? These items are just a few suggestions.

1. Board meeting minutes in their entirety.
2. List of Charter Members
3. Newspaper clippings
4. Incorporation Papers
5. Report of organization
6. Event promotion pieces
7. Selected photographs
8. Important dates
